You’re Invited to Share Three Services of Love This Sunday at St. Paul’s

December 18, 2014

Dec. 21 Background - Copy

This Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, has the theme of Love – God’s love for us – that makes God offer to be our Emmanuel, with us, making a home within us, never to leave. And our love for God – that makes us join Mary in saying “Yes” in response. We’ll be sharing three special Services on this day to draw us deeper into the love of God.

At 8:30 a.m., we’ll share Holy Eucharist, in the language of the Book of Common Prayer, and explore this theme in the sermon, hymns, and prayers.

Then at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., this Great Love Story will be unfolded before us as we share Services of Nine Lessons and Carols. The Service at 10 a.m. will include anthems by our Choir.

The Service at 4 p.m., will be a traditional Service of Lessons and Carols in the beautiful surroundings of our 1885 Midnapore Chapel, with all the prayers from the 2014 King’s College Service, carols from the 1938 Hymn Book, and the King James Version of the Bible for the nine lessons.

The stained glass window image immediately above is the window by the organ at our Midnapore Chapel. Directions to the Chapel are given at the bottom of this posting.
