This Wednesday, you’re invited to watch the Passion and Resurrection of Our Lord as it is depicted in the movie The Gospel of John. This movie, produced in 2003 as part of The Visual Bible, features the eloquent narration of Christopher Plummer, and the powerful acting of Henry Ian Cusick as Jesus.

John’s Gospel was written so that all “may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and, through believing, have life in his name” (John 20:31). Through its faithful presentation of this Gospel, this movie gives us the opportunity, just before we enter Holy Week, to encounter Jesus as our living Lord of love, as we journey from John 13:1 to 21:25: from Jesus’ washing the disciples’ feet and giving them the New Commandment on Maundy Thursday, through Jesus’ Crucifixion on Good Friday, all the way to Jesus’ post-Resurrection appearances to the disciples.

We’re gathering at two different times on Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. At both gatherings, we’llwatch the DVD for one hour of the DVD, and share in 20 minutes of discussion.

You’re invited to come, and (especially) to invite your family and friends!

If you would like a preview, you’re welcome to watch ten minutes of the DVD (John 12:48 to 14:3 below:
