This Wednesday, you’re invited to participate in our second Lenten Study, as we continue to watch and discuss the movie The Gospel of John. This movie, produced in 2003 as part of The Visual Bible, features the eloquent narration of Christopher Plummer, and the powerful acting of Henry Ian Cusick as Jesus.

This week, we’re looking at the second part, John 7:28 to 12:50, which includes the stories of the woman caught in adultery, the healing of the man born blind, Jesus’ words about the Good Shepherd, the raising of Lazarus, and Jesus’ anointing by Mary of Bethany.

John’s Gospel was written so that all “may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and, through believing, have life in his name” (John 20:31). Through its faithful presentation of this Gospel, this movie helps all who watch it encounter Jesus as their living, loving Lord.

We’ll watch The Gospel of John on these two Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.:

1. March 13: John 7:28 to 12:50;

2. March 20: John 13:1 to 21:25.

Both sessions will feature one hour of the DVD and 20 minutes of discussion.

You are invited to come, and (especially) to invite your family and friends!

If you would like a preview, you’re welcome to watch the the movie’s depiction of the healing of the man born blind, embedded below.
