You are Invited to Share a Traditional Service of Lessons and Carols at St. Paul’s Tomorrow

Tomorrow, December 23, at our 8:30 and 10 a.m. Services, we shall be sharing together a traditional Service of nine Lessons and Carols. This Service was first conceived by Archbishop Benson for use in the Truro Cathedral in 1880. It was simplified and adapted in 1918 by Dean Eric Milner-White for use in King’s College Chapel, Cambridge. Our 8:30 and 10 a.m. Services will follow faithfully the King’s College format. The 8:30 Service will include the prayers offered at the King’s College Service. Our 10 a.m. Service will be enriched by the presence of our Choir, and guest soloist Brianna Hart. 

You are warmly invited to come and experience this powerful presentation of the Good News of Christmas in Word and song.

The first Carol at the Lessons and Carols Service is always “Once in Royal David’s City.” Embedded below is a video of this carol’s being sung at the King’s College Service in 2004:
