Today’s Garage Sale Connected with Our Community and Raised $900 for Outreach

May 12, 2012

Today’s Garage Sale was wonderfully successful! The Sale did indeed prove to be one of the most visible days of the year in the community for us, and we used this opportunity to offer the welcome of Our Lord through sharing conversations; free coffee, suckers, key rings, and fabric crosses; and new brochures on St. Paul’s. (Print copies of this brochure are now available in several places in the Hall. An electronic version will be added this week to our website.) We also raised $900 for outreach. Fifty dollars of this we donated to the Calgary Children’s Cottage Society, and $850 we donated towards the $14,000 Walk-in Cooler Project in memory of Len Mountford at the Morelos Orphanage in Mexico.

Huge thanks, Kathleen Robinson, you who donated or purchased items, and you who offered your services as helpers! All of you made this day awesome! Thank you, also, Paul Bourgeois, for taking six of the above photos (this is why Paul, one of our main helpers, doesn’t show up in any of them).
