You are Invited to share the Easter Celebrations at St. Paul’s

April 7, 2012

This year, we are so blessed to be able to share four Easter Services celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus!

Today, at 8:00 p.m. Easter Eve, we shall be celebrating the Great Vigil of Easter with our brothers and sisters from All Saints’ and Shepherd King Lutheran Parishes.

Tomorrow, at 6:55 a.m. Easter morning, we shall gather at our beautiful 127 year old Midnapore Chapel (just West of Bannister Road on 146th Avenue SE) for a Sunrise Service of Morning Prayer.

And then later in the morning tomorrow, at 8:30 and 10 a.m., we shall gather at our main Sunmills Green S.E. building for Services of Holy Eucharist [Book of Common Prayer at 8:30 and Book of Alternative Services with Nursery and Sunday School (who will be having an Easter egg hunt!) at 10:00].

EVERYONE IS INVITED! Please spread the word!

Here is a map to our main Sunmills Green building:

Here’s a map to our Midnapore Chapel:

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

The strife is o’er, the battle done;
now is the victor’s triumph won;
O let the song of praise be sung: alleluia!

Death’s mightiest powers have done their worst,
and Jesus hath his foes dispersed;
let shouts of praise and joy outburst: alleluia!

He closed the yawning gates of hell;
the bars from heaven’s high portals fell.
Let songs of praise his triumph tell: alleluia!

On the third morn he rose again,
glorious in majesty to reign.
O let us swell the joyful strain: alleluia!

Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee,
 from death’s dread sting thy servants free,
 that we may live, and sing to thee: alleluia!

(Latin, 17th century; translated by Francis Pott, 1832-1909)
