Men of St. Paul’s “Put Their Best Foot Forward” in Honour of Len Mountford

January 21, 2012

This morning, 14 men came to our special Breakfast in honour of Len Mountford. In Len’s memory, we donned shorts; partook of an awesome full English Breakfast of English bacon and sausages, black pudding, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, fried tomatoes, and toast, plus coffee and orange juice – all prepared by Kerry Peters (huge thanks, Kerry!); and donated $125 to the Mexican orphanage that was near and dear to Len’s heart. When we said Grace, Kerry led us in moment of remembering Len, and the emotion in his voice said it all, for all of us. Len will be greatly missed, but we are committed to continue the spirit of fun and love at St. Paul’s that epitomized our dear brother in the Lord.

PHOTO NOTES: Missing from the photos is Chris Fink, because he is so good looking that he made the rest of us look bad. The men would like to apologize for the slight blurriness of the second photo, which exists because of the lightning fast kicking motion we were making as the lithe physical specimens that we are.

The next Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on February 18.

Please click here to read the thank you letter we received from the Treasurer of Friends of Morelos Orphanage, and of a wonderful project this money has begun in Len’s honour. We give thanks for the ministry of the Orphanage, which is sharing the love of Jesus with these precious children, and shall be looking at ways to help bring this project to completion.

Our Garage Sale on May 12 will be raising funds for the walk-in cooler project in Len’s memory. Please click here for details.
