The Circle of Love

October 17, 2011

[We sang the following song, entitled “Circle of Love,” at the conclusion of the Children’s Talk on Sunday. Our whole Parish family held hands the last time we sang the chorus.]

CHORUS:
The circle of love goes around and around.
The circle of love goes around.
Reach out, grab a hand; someone needs you,
and the circle of love goes around.

Listen, people are crying,
wond’ring why they’ve been denied.
Stop, reach out; someone needs you,
and the circle of love goes around. CHORUS.

Look, people are searching,
afraid of the journey alone.
Stop, reach out; someone needs you,
and the circle of love goes around. CHORUS.

No one can travel life’s road all alone.
We all need a hand now and then.
Reach out, you’ll find someone who cares,
and the circle of love goes around. CHORUS.

[This version of the song comes from Sharon L. Beckstead, ed., All God’s Children Sing (Wood Lake Books, 1992); the source is described as “unknown.”]
