Our Supernatural Saviour

August 9, 2011

Matthew 14:24-25 says, “The boat the disciples were in, battered by the waves, was far from the land, for the wind was against them. And early in the morning Jesus came walking towards them on the lake.”

Our heritage as Christians is a supernatural God, a living Lord! God is not just an idea, not a watchmaker who winds up the universe, and then is absent. We believe that God is involved with the world – so involved that God gave us God’s own Son, Jesus, on the Cross, so that we might have his life inside us forever.

The disciples’ first response to Jesus’ walking towards them was fear, but the whole reason Jesus came to them like this was their need. Do we believe we have a Saviour with such power?
