Welcoming Our New Members with Fellowship, Food, and Fun

June 27, 2011

Yesterday we had the joy of welcoming our new members – all those who have joined our Parish family since June of last year. At the end of each Service, we prayed for our new members and gave to those present tokens of our love. One of the gifts was a picture frame, to place the photo we took of each person, or the group photo that is included below.

We were delighted to welcome Jeremiah Vericherla at our 8:30 Service.

We were delighted to have eleven new members for us to welcome at our 10 a.m. Service. Pictured in the back row, from left to right, are Sydney and Mary Chilton and Ray Kirkpatrick. Pictured in the front row, from left to right, are Rick, Billy, and Andrea Black; Rosa Goygoyan; Margaret Wheeler (with her granddaughter standing in front of her – whose name I’m not listing, because I don’t want to have names of children attached to their photos on this blog, for safety reasons); and Riza Matias. Not pictured is Margaret Anderson.

Not able to be with us, but equally welcomed in our hearts, were Katelyn Black; Chris Fernando (Chris is a returning member, having moved back to Calgary after a time away); Karla, Vance, and Sofia Manuel; Karen, Ryan, and Erica Moore; Brad and Danielle Squires; Craig, Lisa, and Allison Wall; Jean Wall; and Darcy, Tatiana, and Richard Zacharias.

The damp weather didn’t dampen our picnic any. As the above spread shows, nobody went hungry! Tremendous thanks to Len and Lynda Mountford for organizing the food. Thank you, also, to Kathleen Robinson and our youth, who made our games fun, when it was dry enough for us to go outside.
